Prayer is communication with God. It is a two way thing, we talk to God and he listens and talks back, just like a child talking to a parent.  We all talk to God in different ways, in church, at set times, at home, out walking, in a crisis, or even while doing the washing up!

Sometimes God may feel far away, but He is always there, just like the air we breathe, we don't always see it but we know its there. When God moves, we sometimes can not see it, but like the wind, we can't see it but we can see the effects of it.

Jesus taught us the Lord's prayer, when the disciples asked him how to pray

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
