Bungoma Calling is a charity set up to relieve suffering and hardship as well as engage with local churches in training, in the rural district of Bungoma Western Kenya.

Recently The Revd Phil made a visit to Bungoma in which he engaged in training seminars for church leaders and visited old friends. Phil has had connections with Bungoma since 2006. The visit included visiting the retired Archbishop Eliud Wabukala at his home in Nairobi. The Archbishop is currently chair of the Kenyan Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission. They enjoyed reminiscing on times spent together and updating each other on personal news.

Phil also visited his namesake 'Phil White Jnr' who was baptised with that name 10 years ago. Phil and Phil Jnr enjoyed playing football in his home compound!

Seminars at the Arise and Shine Churches and the New Anglo Church of Kenya were both enjoyable and well received, focussing on the book of Ruth and its relevance to life today.
Interesting discussion took place about new projects for Bungoma Calling linked to the churches focusing on being healthy in their life and mission. It was encouraging to see one church talking about 'growing healthy churches', a topic of seminars Phil offered in 2006.
